Ocean State Job Lot Donating Supplies To Hurricane Victims With Help From Customers
On Wednesday, the first tractor trailer left Ocean State's distribution center in North Kingstown, transporting 20 pallets of supplies.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — North Kingstown-based national retail chain Ocean State Job Lot has partnered with its customers and the United Cajun Navy to donate essential supplies to communities across the south affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
On Wednesday, one tractor trailer left Ocean State's distribution center in North Kingstown, transporting 20 pallets of personal and household cleaning and sanitization supplies. A second trailer contained a full load of nutritious, shelf-stable meals suitable for adults and children, an Ocean State spokesperson said. On Thursday, the company sent a trailer of seasonally-appropriate clothing and outerwear in a full range of sizes and styles.
"Our hearts go out to all of our neighbors to our south who have felt the effects of these devastating hurricanes," said David Sarlitto, the executive director of Ocean State Job Lot's nonprofit arm, said. "We continue to assess the needs of those impacted by both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, and with the help of our generous and loyal customers, we are committed to shipping truckloads of additional supplies as fast as we can to provide further help to those in affected communities."

According to the company, all donated supplies were purchased at cost, in part through donations made by customers at Ocean State Job Lot stores. Monetary donations are being accepted in-store and online here.
