St. John the Divine Hosts Free Lafayette Band, Ice Cream Social
Bring a chair to enjoy a summer night in Saunderstown with music and dessert.
The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will present a free outdoor concert on Wed., July 12, at 7 p.m., hosted by St. John the Divine, 10 Church Way, Saunderstown. Music Director Charles Johnson will conduct a program of patriotic and popular music, show tunes, marches and more. An ice cream social will follow the performance. Audience members are encouraged to bring folding chairs for seating.
The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded 140 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
