9-Year-Old From Pawtucket Dies At MA Beach: DA
The boy had been swimming shortly before he died, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
DARTMOUTH, MA — A 9-year-old boy from Pawtucket died after swimming at Jones Beach in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Sunday night, the Bristol County District Attorney's office said.
The child "had been swimming and exited the water on his own" about 7:30 p.m., the district attorney's office said in a media release.
"Once on the beach the boy started to experience medical distress," the release said.

Dartmouth police responding to the incident found beachgoers performing CPR on the child, according to the district attorney's office.
"The boy was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital (in New Bedford) where he was pronounced deceased," the release said.

"This matter is under investigation but not deemed suspicious at this time," the release said.
