1. Man steals car with baby inside, baby found safe and reunited with family

Everyone's phone blew up with an AMBER alert on Saturday when a car with a baby inside was stolen from a Pawtucket shopping plaza. The car was found an hour later in Providence, and Sunday night the suspect was still at large. WJAR interviewed the police officer who found the car. Reporter Tyler Dumont snapped a photo of the moment the child was reunited with his father, who told police he left the child unattended to run inside a store.

2. Pawtucket man rides bike across the USA

Wade Walbrun, 55, was one of 45 riders to participate in the Trans Am Bike Race. He rode through 10 states in 26 days, carrying all of his own gear. The Pawtucket resident said the event was the most mentally and physically challenging thing he's ever done. Cyclists rode from Astoria, Oregon, to Yorktown, Virginia. (WPRI)

3. Cumberland elementary school music teacher dies unexpectedly

Joseph M. Alberg, 33, a music teacher at Ashton and Cumberland Hill schools, died Thursday at his home. He was a graduate of Cumberland High School and the University of Rhode Island. He leaves his parents, siblings, grandmothers Josephine Dunbar of Cumberland and Rebecca Alberg of Pawtucket, and aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. (GoLocalProv)

4. Another gun homicide in Providence

A man, 20, was shot and killed Sunday evening in his own back yard. Police told WPRI the victim was likely targeted. Mayor Jorge Elorza was at the scene on Public Street talking with neighbors. He said fatal shootings affect the whole community, and that there are too many weapons on the street.

5. A Pawtucket-based plumbing and heating supply company has been purchased

Simon's Supply, with plumbing and heating stores in Fall River, New Bedford, West Yarmouth and Pawtucket, is now owned by WinSupply of Dayton, Ohio. WinSupply Acquisitions says that Lloyd and Fred Felder of Simon's Supply "leave behind a strong group of people committed to serving their customers and a legacy of expertise dating back to 1933.” (Dayton Daily News)
