- A man in his 70s was killed Monday in a crash on Mendon Road in Cumberland. Police said the man, heading north in a VW at around 1 p.m., crossed into the oncoming lane and hit a BMW head-on. The other driver was hospitalized. The Providence Journal (subscription) tracked down the details.
- Governor Dan McKee has ordered all health care workers in state-licensed facilities to get vaccinated by October 1. (WJAR)
- Did Brown University fail to protect female students from sexual assault? A new federal class action lawsuit claims the Ivy League school discouraged women from reporting sexual misconduct and promoted a "code of silence." (WBUR)
- Fifteen members of the General Assembly are fighting rate hikes proposed by Blue Cross Blue Shield, Neighborhood Health Plan, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna and Tufts Health. In a letter to Health Insurance Commissioner Patrick Tigue, the lawmakers said higher health care costs would hurt working people, especially those in the urban core of Providence, Central Falls, and Pawtucket.
