• Feds drop appeal in SNAP shutdown case as lawsuit continues in Rhode Island • Highway 58 Herald (highway58herald.org) — Pawtucket is one of three Rhode Island cities suing to protect local SNAP work-requirement waivers, which remain in place while the case continues. Federal officials have dropped their appeal over funding SNAP during the shutdown, but the broader lawsuit over waivers and future food assistance rules is still active and could affect many Pawtucket residents who rely on these benefits.
   

• Hit-and-run victim's sister refuses to give up search for answers (wpri.com) — A woman originally from Pawtucket is still fighting for justice 17 years after her sister was killed in an unsolved hit-and-run in Providence. As the anniversary approaches, the family is urging anyone with information to contact Providence police and help finally bring answers and accountability.
