Pawtucket Teen Among 3 In Massachusetts Armed Robbery Cases: Cops

CANTON, MA — A Pawtucket teen was among three arrested in connection with a pair of Canton armed robbery cases.

The other two arrested in connection with the separate armed robbery cases have already pleaded guilty, according to a media release from the Canton Police Department.

The first robbery involved a report of a knife-wielding bandit holding up a Washington Street 7-Eleven about 1:30 a.m. Jan. 22, the release said.

"After reviewing surveillance video, conducting interviews, and executing a search warrant, Canton Police arrested a 35-year-old Canton man," the release said. "Last week, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 2 to 3 years in state prison."

The second robbery was committed shortly before 6 p.m. Feb. 11 in the parking lot of a Randolph Street apartment complex, according to the release.

Two crooks held up a man at gunpoint, the release said.

"Through a detailed investigation, which included reviewing surveillance video, conducting interviews, and pursuing digital evidence, Canton Police arrested a 17-year-old male from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and a 21-year-old male from Stoughton," according to the release.

"The 21-year-old recently pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a term of 3 years to 3 years and one day in jail," the release said.

Interim Chief Joseph Perkins commended the Canton Police Department for conducting the investigations that led to the convictions.

"The thorough and diligent work of the Canton Police Department in both cases resulted in arrests, and now convictions," Perkins said in the release. "The Canton Police Department is dedicated to keeping our community safe. These outcomes are a clear reflection of that commitment."
