Police ID Pawtucket Man Killed In Attleboro Crash

Hernane Ribeiro, 19, was behind the wheel of a Hyundai Accent that rear-ended an 18-wheeler on I-95 at around 3 a.m. on Thursday.

Massachusetts State Police have identified a 19-year-old man who was killed last week in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in Attleboro.


Hernane Ribeiro of Pawtucket was behind the wheel of a 2010 Hyundai Accent that collided with an 18-wheeler on the southbound side of the interstate near Exit 6 on Thursday around 3 a.m. Ribeiro was rushed to Rhode Island hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A passenger in Ribeiro’s car, a 19-year-old woman from Brockton, suffered minor injuries.

State police said an investigation revealed that Ribeiro struck the back of the tractor-trailer. The crash remains under investigation.
