RI Man Sentenced For Selling Drugs For A Ninth Time

Prosecutors say FBI agents in Rhode Island caught Gary Doran, 36 of Pawtucket, selling thousands of fentanyl pills worth $9,250.

PAWTUCKET, RI — A Pawtucket man who previously served eight different jail sentences for selling drugs was sentenced Wednesday to six years in federal prison, having been convicted most recently for selling thousands of fentanyl pills.

Gary Doran, 36, pleaded guilty to distribution of 40 grams or more of fentanyl.

According to court documents, three months after being released from jail in 2021, FBI agents learned Doran was once again active in drug dealing. Prosecutors said a witness cooperating with the FBI bought thousands of fentanyl pills from Doran for $9,250. The sales took place over a period of less than two months, prosecutors said.
