East Bay Bridge Funding Commission To Meet Thursday

The commission will meet this Thursday, Dec. 19, at 4 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House.

The Special Legislative Commission to Study the Funding for East Bay Bridges will meet this Thursday, Dec. 19, at 4 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House. 

The agenda includes a staff recap of all outstanding questions and issues, as well as a review of possible funding sources and commission member discussion. 

The commission’s next steps will also be discussed.

According to the meeting announcement, public testimony will be limited to the presentation topic.

The commission, co-chaired by Rep. Helio Melo (D-Dist. 64, East Providence) and Sen. Daniel Da Ponte (D-Dist. 14, East Providence), was established during the 2013 legislative session to allow lawmakers and officials the opportunity to investigate funding for Rhode Island’s infrastructures, including the Sakonnet River Bridge.
