Happiness is a Warm Blanket and Helping Others
Pennfield students create blankets to donate to Project Linus.

The Buddy Program is a treasured community builder for The Pennfield School, pairing older and younger students together for monthly projects and activities. Students look forward to these monthly gatherings, and the time spent together is even more special when students have the opportunity to work together to help others.
This past December, the school community met to help spread warmth to children in need of a little extra comfort. Under the direction Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Johnson, students worked in groups of four to create no-sew fleece blankets. The finished creations were donated to Project Linus, a national nonprofit organization that provides new, handmade blankets to children in crisis.
Students watched a short video about the importance of Project Linus and then got to work. With the help of their buddies even our youngest preschoolers were able to participate and discover joy in helping others.
