How Much Snow is Portsmouth Getting This Weekend?

Will Portsmouth get pummeled this weekend with several inches of snow or will it be all rain?

One thing does remain certain — weather forecasts vary this morning. 

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Portsmouth.

The NWS says a couple inches of snow is possible, but other weather channels are predicting even less. Snow may mix with rain in the Portsmouth area.

However, the NWS warns that the heavy wet snow could bring down tree limbs and result in scattered power outages.

Here is a look at the snowfall estimates for Portsmouth as of 9 a.m. Friday:

• Channel 10: Several inches for higher elevations in state, little accumulation on coast
• NWS: A quarter of an inch to 2 inches
• Channel 12: Coating to an inch
