Man Arrested After Trying to Fill Prescription at CVS

The following is based on reports from the Portsmouth Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Man arrested after trying to fill false prescription 

Donald Condon, 37, 63 Berkley Ave., Portsmouth, was arrested on March 29 at 3:45 p.m. and charged with making a false report to obtain a controlled substance, or trying to pass a fraudulent prescription; and driving on a suspended license. He was also wanted on a bench warrant from Second Division District Court for failure to appear. 

Police were alerted by a CVS employee on Turnpike Avenue of a man at the drive-thru attempting to fill a prescription found to be fraudulent. Police obtained a description of the vehicle and stopped it on Rt. 24 North near Sakonnet River Bridge.

Condon had a prescription for oxycodone, which was found to be fraudulent. 

Man arrested on DUI charge

William Rollins, 26, of Hyde Park, MA, was arrested on March 30 and charged with driving under the influence (DUI).

Police received a report of erratic vehicle north West Main Road near Mobile Xtra-Mart. The vehicle was later located on Rt. 24 near Sprague Street. 

The operater had a strong aroma of alcohol, police said. Rollins failed a field sobriety test and, after being brought to headquarters, failed a chemical test.

Woman arrested on DUI charge 

Cynthia Cunningham, 64, 95 Bristol Ferry Road, Portsmouth, was arrested on March 31 at 5 p.m. and charged with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Police received a report of an erratic vehicle on East Main at Turnpike. The vehicle stopped on Turnpike Avenue near Rt. 24.

The operator had a strong aroma of alcohol and slurred speech. Cunningham failed a field sobriety test and allegedly refused to submit to a chemical test.
