Less Than 1 Percent of Voters Turn Out for Water District Election

That's not a typo in the headline. 

Only 75 voters, .6 percent of registered voters, less than 1 percent, turned out for the Portsmouth Water and Fire District's annual election held on Wednesday. 

Approximately 12,482 voters were eligible to cast ballots yesterday. 

Winners of yesterday's election are as follows. 

For the position of moderator, a three-year term, incumbent Ronald L. Molleur won with 72 votes.  

For the position of treasurer, a three-year term, Joseph A. Magliocco won with 66 votes.

Molleur and Magliocco will be sworn in at the board's next regularly scheduled meeting on June 18 at 7 p.m.
