Parking Ban In Portsmouth Ahead Of Jan. 19 Storm

PORTSMOUTH, RI — The town of Portsmouth announced a town-wide parking ban ahead of an expected snowstorm on Thursday. The parking ban will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Parking bans were announced for a handful of other towns, as well. So far, no school districts have opted for a delayed start or distance learning.

The bulk of the snow is expected to fall between 5 a.m. and noon, making for potentially hazardous conditions during the morning commute. Much of Rhode Island will see one to two inches of snow, with slightly more accumulation in the northwest corner of the state and a little less along the coast.
