Pennfield Students Shine in Spanish Language Competition

Several local students received recognition on the National Spanish Exam.

Congratulations once again to several of The Pennfield School's 7th and 8th grade Spanish students for their impressive performance on the 2023 National Spanish Examinations.

Students attained national recognition, earning one gold, two silver, and nine bronze medals, along with one honorable mention. “Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Lisa Greenman, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with nearly 85,000 students participating in 2023.”

The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades 6 through 12, and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. Under the guidance of Spanish teacher, Peter Dorrien Traisci, Pennfield students have a long history of high achievement on these exams.
