Police Log: Friendly Favor Results in Arrest

One woman was called to her own arrest early Monday after agreeing to do a favor for a friend in need. 

Sean Hackbarth, 23, of Tiverton, was arrested on Sunday at 11:30 p.m. after a motor vehicle stop on Bristol Ferry Road near the Mount Hope Bridge. The vehicle was stopped for completing an illegal U-turn. 

A check revealed Hackbarth was wanted on a Second District Court bench warrant for failure to appear at an arraignment. He was also charged with driving on a suspended license. 

Unfortunately, Hackbarth's dog was also inside his vehicle at the time. Hackbarth called a friend to look after the dog.

The problem? The friend was also wanted on a warrant. 

Rebecca Barter, 23, of Fall River, MA, was arrested on Monday at 12:30 a.m. when she arrived to pick up the dog. A check revealed she was wanted on a warrant issued by Tiverton police. 

Hackbarth later called another friend to look after the dog. 

Middletown man allegedly pushes woman into wall 

Angelo Gordon, 43, of Middletown, was arrested on Feb. 1 at 9 p.m. after apparently being in an argument with a 43-year-old Portsmouth woman. 

During the argument, Gordon allegedly grabbed the woman by the throat and pushed her into a wall. No injuries were reported. 

Gordon was arrested and charged with domestic, simple assault.
