Portsmouth Crash: Two Elderly People Extricated, Sent To Hospital
An 83-year-old driver and his 75-year-old passenger went to the hospital after his pickup truck collided with a building supply truck.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — Two people were trapped in a pickup truck on Thursday after a collision with a building supply truck. The accident happened shortly before noon on East Main Road near Bramans Lane. Rescue workers extricated the 83-year old driver and his 75-year-old passenger and took them to the hospital. The building supply truck driver and his passenger were not hurt.
The accident shut down the road for about two hours, police said. Portsmouth Fire, Middletown Fire and the Naval Fire departments responded for the rescue. The state police and Middletown police helped Portsmouth with the crash investigation.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
