Portsmouth Closes Schools, Enacts Parking Ban Due To Winter Storm
Portsmouth could see up to 8 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — Portsmouth Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, as a major winter storm is expected to hit the region.
Portsmouth also announced a parking ban ahead of a winter storm expected to arrive early Tuesday morning.
The parking ban will be in effect from 4 a.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday

Portsmouth residents can help plows do their job by pulling all trash and recycling carts away from the street, along with basketball hoops or other items that block the street. Also, do not blow snow into the street from driveways.
The storm timing will likely be between 1 a.m. Tuesday and 1 a.m. Wednesday. According to the forecast, the heaviest snow is expected between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Seven to 13 inches of snow is forecasted for much of Rhode Island. Portsmouth is not expected to get as much, but could still see 8 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.
