Portsmouth Police Identify MA Woman Killed After Crashing Into Home

Portsmouth police say the Fall River, Massachusetts, woman was extricated from her car after crashing into a home on Anthony Road.

PORTSMOUTH, RI — Portsmouth police on Monday identified the woman who was killed after crashing into a home on Anthony Road over the weekend.

Louise Lussier, 70, of Fall River, Massachusetts, died Sunday morning after her car struck the home and caused significant damage, police said.

Lussier was extricated from the car, suffered serious injuries and had to be rushed to Newport Hospital, police said. She later died at the hospital, according to police.

Portsmouth police said Lussier was the only person in the car. The house's residents were home when the crash happened, but police said no injuries were reported.

According to a preliminary police investigation, the woman was driving north on Anthony Road when her car left the road and struck the side of the home.

Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
