Portsmouth Police: MA Woman Drunkenly Drives With 8-Year-Old In Car
Portsmouth police charge Kaleigh Maraglia, 33, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, with DUI of liquor or drugs with a child passenger under 13.
PORTSMOUTH, RI — Portsmouth police on Sunday arrested a Massachusetts woman they said drunkenly drove with an 8-year-old child in the car.
Kaleigh Maraglia, 33, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, was charged with DUI of liquor or drugs with a blood alcohol level between 0.1 and 0.15 and DUI of liquor or drugs with a child passenger under 13.
Around 9:36 p.m., Portsmouth police said they noticed someone driving erratically on Route 24 northbound near Sprague Street. Police said the driver, later identified as Maraglia, was driving too close to another car, was improperly changing lanes, and was drifting between lane dividers.

When officers pulled over Maraglia and spoke with her, they saw several signs of alcohol impairment, police said. Maraglia submitted to field sobriety testing, which police said she failed, leading to her arrest.
Police said they searched the vehicle and found open alcohol containers.

Maraglia is scheduled to appear in Second Division District Court on June 3.
