Victim Dies After 3-Vehicle Crash on Bristol Ferry Road

The name of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.

 

One person died Wednesday after a three-vehicle crash on Bristol Ferry Road near Mare Terrace, announced Portsmouth police Wednesday night. 

Portsmouth police were called at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday to Bristol Ferry Road at Mare Terrace for a motor vehicle accident involving three vehicles.

Two of the operators were transported to Newport Hospital, where one of the victims was pronounced dead.

A third operator was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. The medical conditions of the other two victims is unknown at this time.

The name of the operators and deceased are being withheld at this time pending notification of family.

Bristol Ferry Road was closed to traffic, which was re-routed. The road re-opened at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The accident remains under investigation by the Portsmouth Police Department.
