Welcome to The Robin’s Egg

Shop Online I like to think of it as curating—not just filling racks. Every piece of clothing that comes through my door is chosen because it’s still beautiful, still useful, and still special.

Toys With Purpose
One of the parts of my shop that brings me the most joy is the toy section. Over the years, I’ve traveled and searched internationally to bring in unique toys and games you won’t find at the big-box stores. Many of these toys are inspired by Montessori and Waldorf philosophies—open-ended, creative, and designed to spark curiosity.
Homeschooling families often tell me they love finding puzzles, sensory games, and craft kits here that support hands-on learning. For me, that’s the best compliment—knowing that these toys aren’t just fun, but meaningful.

Creating a Welcoming Space
People sometimes ask if The Robin’s Egg is “high-end.” I always smile and say: yes, the quality is high, but the doors are open to everyone. My goal is that every family feels comfortable here—whether you’re shopping for snow boots, a special occasion dress, or just a new favorite toy.
It’s important to me that parents and children feel this shop belongs to them. I want you to walk in, take your time, and leave knowing you’ve made a purchase that’s both good for your family and good for our planet.

You’re Invited: Holiday Open House 🎉
I’d love to invite you to our Holiday Open House at The Robin’s Egg on:
📅 Saturday, November 1, 2025
📍 The Robin’s Egg – 1015 East Main Road, Portsmouth, Rhode Island
This will be a one-day-only event and we’ll still be celebrating with:
✨ Exclusive in-store specials on clothing & toys
✨ A first look at new arrivals for the holiday season
✨ Time to shop thoughtfully in a welcoming space

Looking Ahead: Montessori & Waldorf Shopping Nights
I’m also exploring a new idea: reaching out to local Montessori and Waldorf schools to host a special RSVP-only shopping night. In the past, we’ve tried open invitations and had very few families attend, so this time I’d love to work with schools directly to send flyers home and include an announcement in their weekly parent email blasts.
To make it even more meaningful, I’d be happy to offer these as fundraisers—where a percentage of sales goes back to the school or organization.
If you’re part of a Montessori or Waldorf school (or even a homeschool group) and would like to plan something like this, let’s talk!

From My Heart to Yours
The Robin’s Egg is more than my shop—it’s my way of contributing to this community I love. Every consignor who brings in clothes, every parent who finds a treasure here, every child who plays with one of our puzzles or dolls…you’re part of this story.
I can’t wait to see you at our Open House on November 1st. Bring your kids, bring a friend, and come experience what makes this little shop in Portsmouth so special.

With gratitude,
Robin
