  1. The Providence City Council Finance Committee voted to change the new Providence police major job to a civilian position on Tuesday night. The panel also cut the salary for the job and changed the job description. The budget amendments will need to be approved by the full City Council. (WPRI.com)
  2. A suspect in a deadly Providence shooting was arraigned on Thursday. Quelon Page, 31, has been accused of the May 14 killing of Tyreik Grundy. Police had obtained an arrest warrant for Page, who later surrendered to authorities. (WJAR)
