Here are the top stories today in Providence:
- Developer Federico Manaigo, who was recently arrested, has received millions in incentives from the State of Rhode Island and the City of Providence for his projects. Manaigo is facing an assault charge after he became enraged during a property line dispute when he was called a“trust fund baby.” The confrontation occurred in June, between Manaigo and neighbor Scott Stearns of Stearns Tool Company, a nearly 50-year-old family business adjacent to one of Manaigo’s developments. - Providence police responded to a report of gunfire on Thursday night. At least 14 evidence markers were seen on the ground, along with multiple shell casings at Massachusetts Ave. around 9 p.m. There has been no word if anyone was hurt in the shooting. (WPRI.com)
- The Festival Ballet Providence is returning to live, in-person performances Oct. 20-24 with 'Continuing Points,' which will feature three contemporary works along with classical ballet. (The Providence Journal)
- Trinity Rep has announced its casting for the 2021-22 season, which includes four shows: “Tiny Beautiful Things,” August Wilson’s “Gem of the Ocean,” “Sueño,” and “Fairview.” (Johnston Sun Rise)
