Here are the top five stories today in Providence:

  1. Speaking to the Black experience, the first-ever “Black Biennial” takes center stage at RISD's Gelman Student Exhibitions Gallery, now through April 10. The show is a student-curated exhibit for Black artists, which features works from 80 artists. It is the brainchild of RISD senior Rey Londres, who saw the need for an inclusive space where artists of color could show their art. (Rhode Island Monthly)
  2. Thirty-two-year-old Andre Biggs was arrested Wednesday after Massachusetts State Police said he stole a van from Boston Children's Hospital and led police on a chase down Interstate 95. He was charged with stealing a motor vehicle. (Providence Patch)
  3. Looking for a floating Airbnb rental? Look no further than Providence Marina where a tugboat that once served as a Canadian Coast Guard vessel, now offers cushy overnight stays. (wbsm.com)
  4. A bus used by the West End Intruders football team was found on fire Wednesday afternoon in the West End Community Center. Two juveniles have been apprehended and a third has been identified in the incident. (WPRI.com)
  5. The deadline is fast approaching for $10,000 grants for community projects from The Rhode Island Foundation. March 31 is the last day to apply for one of the grants which are being offered to local libraries, schools, neighborhood groups and nonprofit organizations to fund proposals that bring people together as a community.
