Guilty Verdict In 2016 Halloween Murder In Pawtucket: AG

A Providence Superior Court jury on Friday convicted Trearra Hudgen, 28, of first-degree murder and other charges in connection a 2016 case.

PAWTUCKET, RI—A 28-year-old Pawtucket woman was found guilty this week of murder in the death Matthew Reverdes on Halloween in 2016, the state Attorney General's Office said.

A Providence Superior Court jury returned the verdict against Trearra Hudgen. She was convicted of first degree murder and several other charges (discharge of a firearm while committing a crime of violence resulting in death, first degree robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon, and carrying a pistol without a license).

According to court papers, Hudgen and Julio Cano, 34, also of Pawtucket, went to the victim's apartment. The reason was "a personal dispute," the Attorney General's Office said. A fight started, and Hudgen shot Reverdes in the back with her Colt .22 revolver. Reverdes ran away. He collapsed inside a Dunkin' Donuts shop nearby. Rescue workers took him to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
