- "Traffic calming” measures,a.k.a speed bumps, have been installed on Federal Hill in front of businesses on Atwells Avenue close to the Route 6 overpass. The area is heavily traveled during business hours, as well as, during peak nighttime hours, but it's reportedly the off-hours including late at night and early morning, that have become a real problem, acting as a magnet for off-road dirt bikes and ATVs operating illegally on city streets. Hopes are that the speed bumps will help to slow all traffic, during all times of the day and night. (GoLocalProv)
- Since 2016 visitors, as well as, residents of Rhode Island have been enjoying the iconic beauty that married art with nature known as 'Ten Thousand Suns,' the public art installation of sunflowers set against Providence’s skyline. Sad news for all! This year the sunflowers will not be returning to brighten up the area. The property that housed the massive flower installation has reportedly been sold to a Boston developer and it will be turned into a mixed-use apartment building. (WPRI.com)
