  1. Police arrested a man on Thursday after he beat his girlfriend's dog to death and discarded the remains in a Providence park. The woman explained that her boyfriend, Devon Hernandez, 29, had called her while she was at work to tell her that he hit her dog, Davinci, for peeing on the bed, and she had video evidence of her boyfriend abusing the dog. Officers ultimately found Davici’s remains in a Price Rite shopping bag at a park near the intersection of Whitmarsh and Updike streets. (WPRI.com)
  2. A man was shot in the face with a BB gun while leaving Planet Fitness in Providence on Thursday night. Shortly after 10:00 p.m., the victim told police he was leaving the gym when a car pulled up with four men in it and one of the males opened the door and fired what appeared to be a projectile at him. The man, who was struck in the face and was bleeding, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. (GoLocalProv)
  3. Police are investigating after a 24-year-old man was shot at a Swan Street home in Providence on Thursday night. (WLNE-TV (ABC6))
  4. Four men accused of engaging in a gang-related shootout in Providence that wounded nine people faced a judge on Friday, and have been ordered to be placed on home confinement. (WPRI.com)
