Here are the top four stories today in Providence:

  1. A major renovation is planned for the D'Abate Elementary School this summer. The project, which comes with a $21 million dollar price tag, is expected to take approximately one year to complete and will create a modern facility with a 21st-century learning environment. (The Providence Journal)
  2. In honor of Roger Williams Zoo's 150th birthday, a time capsule has been buried. Inside the capsule, there is a stuffed polar bear, an animal facts booklet, a plush giraffe, a City Council pin and a copy of The Providence Journal. City and state officials were on hand for the special burial event on Friday, some spoke about their memories at the Zoo and what a special place it is. (The Providence Journal)
  3. They're back! A pair of Peregrine falcons have once again claimed the top of the “Superman” building in Providence as their own. The pair can be seen on live stream tending to their eggs in their cozy nest. (WPRI.com)
  4. Jason Kendrick, broke into a woman's home on Miller Avenue and walked inside naked. He allegedly got into bed with the woman. Police have since charged Kendrick with breaking and entering. (Providence Patch)
