  1. A Providence nightclub manager was arrested for allegedly attempting to bribe a Board of Licenses official. Daniel Marlo Caraballo, manager of the Broad Street nightclub Lit Lounge, asked an official for help while filling out paperwork, and upon completion, handed the employee a white envelope containing $2,000 in cash. Caraballo is being charged with one count of bribery of a public official. (GoLocalProv)
  2. The Providence police union has accused the city of dismissing academy policy and pushing unqualified recruits through the process. The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #3 said in a statement that the city is picking and choosing “which policies are worthy of being strictly adhered to and those that can be bent to fit a desired outcome.” Providence Police Chief Hugh Clements is defending the decision, stating the department’s firearms policy and training curriculum is currently being reviewed and will be amended as needed ahead of next year’s training academy.
