Here are the top four stories today in Providence:

  1. Federal Hill restaurant owner Armando Bisceglia has had an incredible two-year journey. In February 2020, Bisceglia was finally seeing his goal of opening his own place on Federal Hill come to fruition. Two weeks later, the pandemic officially hit. Then, Bisceglia contracted COVID-19 — and wound up in the hospital fighting for his life. Fast forward to the present day and Bisceglia is out of the hospital and healthy and so is his business. He will be nearly double the size of his restaurant next month when he moves it to the prime location on the corner of Atwells Avenue and DePasquale Avenue. (GoLocalProv)
  2. Many Providence School system teachers are not fans of the grading system because students in many grades who don't pass a class get an incomplete, instead of an 'F' and are given the opportunity to make up the credit by November of the next school year. Reportedly, the policy also says that students can’t receive a grade lower than 50 on a scale of 1 to 100. (The Providence Journal)
  3. Celebrating a half-century of Brown’s impact in medical education and research, members of the Warren Alpert Medical School community, including graduates from classes ranging from 1972 to 2022, gathered on April 29 for the Opening Celebration of 50 Years of Medicine at Brown. Reportedly, this is a 15-month series of celebratory, reflective and scholarly activities planned to honor distinctive and innovative elements of Brown’s approach to medical training and biomedical innovation. (Brown University)
  4. Guess what well know actor was caught Friday morning dining at NicoBella's on Dorrance Street? If you guessed Paul Rudd a.k.a. Ant-Man, you guessed right! (Turn to 10)
