- Providence police are investigating a report of an armed home break-in on Houston Street Tuesday morning. According to the victim, he had been sleeping when he was woken up and assaulted. He also said a gun was fired in the residence during the altercation. (GoLocalProv)
- A Providence man has been indicted in the murder of a Massachusetts man in Pawtucket over the summer. Karel Martinez Scarlet, 26, is facing charges related to the shooting death of Keshaudas Spence of Brockton, including conspiracy to commit murder, discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, death resulting, carrying a pistol without a license, and firing in a compact area. - The North Providence Library, located at 1810 Mineral Spring Ave., will hold a children's Halloween party at 2 p.m. on Saturday with party games, a Halloween story, and a trick-or-treat in a parade through the library. (Valley Breeze)
- Thousands of Providence-area residents were left without power yesterday after this week's nor'easter, and officials say some Rhode Islanders could be without power for days. (Providence Journal)
