  1. Providence resident Rey Alberto Herrera has announced he is running for governor as an independent. Herrera, currently a homeless man of Providence, has big ideas and goals for the state. He hopes to improve the state's public education system, and to further create a Rhode Island-focused cannabis economy. (GoLocalProv)
  2. A group of people caused significant damage to seven college student's cars in Providence on Saturday night. Police are investigating after the vandalism was caught on video, which showed a large group of young people throwing rocks at car windows, stomping on the hood of an SUV, and some even attempting to break down the door of the apartment building. The incident happened in the area of Pembroke Avenue and Chad Brown Street and residents say the destruction lasted several hours. (WLNE-TV (ABC6))
  3. Bomb threats that caused evacuations at three Ivy League campuses over the weekend, including Brown University, were determined to be unfounded. (WCVB Boston)
  4. Long-time Federal Hill restaurateur and hotelier Gianfranco Marrocco sold Hotel Dolce Villa to Providence Living, a Providence-based development company that is led by Justin Dezube. (GoLocalProv)
