- Celebrating its 150th birthday in 2022, the Roger Williams Zoo, the third oldest zoo in the United States, will have a special 150th edition float in the Providence St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 19. Don't miss it! (What'sUpNewp)
- Big news! The Big East regular-season champion Providence College men’s basketball team is the No. 4 seed in the Midwest Region for the 2022 NCAA tournament. - An email hack involving nearly a half-million email addresses in a Brown University database took place over the weekend. A thorough investigation has confirmed that there was no software, virus or payload linked to the unauthorized messages that would have any effect on the machines, software, stored content or technology of those who received or opened the unauthorized messages. - In Rhode Island, deaths attributable to the coronavirus per capita are even more common than they are nationwide. Across the state, 3,419 people have died from the coronavirus, equal to about 323 deaths for every 100,000 people. Of all states — and Washington D.C. — Rhode Island has the 20th highest death rate per capita. (Patch)
