Holy Week Service Schedules in Smithfield

The following is a schedule for some of this weekend's services for Smithfield. If your church services are not listed, please share the schedule in the comments section below:

Holy Thursday:

• Morning Prayer (Liturgy of the Hours) at 8 a.m.
• 7 p.m. Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper, concluding with the procession of the Most Blessed Sacrament to Our Lady’s Chapel where public Adoration will continue until 12 Midnight

Good Friday:

• Morning Prayer (Liturgy of the Hours) at 8 a.m.
• 7 p.m. Evening Service of the Passion, Veneration of the Cross and Holy Communion

Holy Saturday:

• Morning Prayer (Liturgy of the Hours) at 8 a.m.
• 8 p.m. The Paschal Vigil in the Holy Night of Easter and Solemn Easter Vigil Mass

Easter Sunday:

• Masses at 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and
• 12 Noon (NO 6 p.m. Mass on Easter Sunday!)

Stations of the Cross are prayed this week on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. and on Good Friday at 3 p.m. Abstinence from meat and meat products is required of all those 14 years old and over on Good Friday.Fasting is required on Good Friday (for those 18 to 59 years old).  No snacks, no eating between meals and eating less.  This “Paschal Fast” might be continued until Holy Saturday night when the Easter Vigil will break the fast with Easter joy.
