Man Protests Girlfriend's Ejection From Bryant Concert, Kicked Off Campus

The following arrest information was provided by the Smithfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Three Smithfield Police officers were dispatched to Bryant University at 9:18 p.m. April 27 for a report of a disturbance in progress, finding a disorderly young man and a Bryant Public Safety officer with a twisted knee.

When officers arrived, BPS officers told them that a Bryant student, a woman had been barred from a concert at the university due to intoxication. As she was escorted away from the concert, he boyfriend, Michael Napolitano, 20, of 1621 Tibbits Ave., Troy, NY, began acting in a disorderly manner, which did not pursuade them to let his girlfriend back into the concert. He did manage to add himself to the list of people being escorted out of the concert.

This development failed to improve Napolitano's mood, and he began yelling and screaming at the BPS officers, grabbing one by the jacket, causing him to fall and twist his knee. The officers placed Napolitano in handcuffs until Smithfield officers arrived.

Smithfield Police picked Napolitano up and transported him to Smithfield Police headquarters without incident, and charged with disorderly conduct.
