Motorcyclist Suffers Serious Injury: Interstate 295: Smithfield
A motorcyclist was seriously hurt Sunday night when his bike collided with a Jeep.

SMITHFIELD, RI — A motorcyclist was seriously hurt Sunday night when his bike collided with a Jeep. According to state police, the accident happened around 8 p.m., just South of Exit 12 (Route 44). The people in the Sport Utility Vehicle were not injured, but the male motorcyclist suffered "critical injuries" and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. The accident is still under investigation. Two lanes were closed for roughly two hours after the crash Sunday night.
