School Bus Crash In Burrillville Injures 5, Including 3 Students

The bus was transporting elementary school students from various school when it crashed, according to Burrillville police.

BURRILLVILLE, RI — Three students were among five people injured when a car collided with a school bus Thursday morning in Burrillville, according to police.

In a news conference streamed by ABC 6, Maj. Albert Carlow of the Burrillville Police Department said the crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. on Camp Dixie Road.

The bus was transporting elementary school students from various schools, according to police. The students, the driver of the school bus, and the driver of the car were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Carlow said.

The remaining students on the bus were transferred to a different bus and either taken to school or to a gathering point where parents picked them up, police said.

It's likely sun glare contributed to the crash, Carlow said. The crash remains under investigation.
