Smithfield Make-A-Wish Kid Hosts Tip-A-Bruin Fundraiser

As part of a year-long partnership, Make-A-Wish^® Massachusetts and Rhode Island and the Providence Bruins teamed up to host a Tip-A-Bruin fundraiser at Uno’s Chicago Grill in Providence Place Mall. Fans were invited to buy raffle tickets to enter to win autographed merchandise, take photos, and purchase discounted game tickets with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish^® Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The Bruins were assisted by 8-year-oldSmithfield resident and wish child Cristina Tortolano.

 Diagnosed with Wilm’s tumor, Cristina had her wish of meeting Grammy Award-winning artist Taylor Swift granted by Make-A-Wish^® Massachusetts and Rhode Island in June of 2012. She currently plays on a hockey team in Smithfield, making her participation in this fundraiser a big win for everyone.
