Tuesday Five: Santa, Council Canceled, Gingerbread Houses, Skating

Good morning, and welcome to today's things to know:

 

Santa at Applebee's - St. Nick will clear some time off his busy schedule tonight to sit down with kids at Applebee's at 6 p.m. Bring your cameras.

Game off - The Smithfield Town Council meeting, originally scheduled for toay at 7 p.m., is canceled

Gingerbread decorating signup - There's still time to sign up for tonight's gingerbread house decorating party from 6:30-8 p.m at the East Smithfield Library, 50 Esmond St. All teens and young adults in grades 5 and up are invited to join their friends for a night out at the library. We will be decorating Gingerbread Houses with an assortment of sweets, such as gum drops, candy canes, and M&Ms. When you finish your house, you can sit back and view your work. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring in anything else you want to use. Space is limited, so sign up for this event as soon as possible in the Young Adult folder or give the library a call. Registration is required. Call (401) 231-5150.

Sharpen your skates: Over at the Smithfield Ice Rink, there's public skating scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. today. Admission is $3, rentals are $5.
