2 Injured In Tiverton After Roll-Over Crash Into The Woods

The driver was airlifted to Rhode Island Hospital and was in critical condition as of Monday, according to Tiverton police.

TIVERTON, RI — Two people were injured Sunday in a roll-over crash in Tiverton that ended with a car in the woods, according to police.

Police said the crash was reported around 6:20 p.m. on Stone Church Road near Sylvia Road. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle in the woods and the driver trapped inside.

Police said members of the Tiverton Fire Department extricated the driver, a 25-year-old man, from the car using a hydraulic cutting tool. The man was airlifted to Rhode Island Hospital and was in critical condition as of Monday, according to police. Police said the passenger, a 27-year-old man, suffered minor injuries in the crash.

According to police, the driver was traveling north on Stone Church Road, when he left the road for unknown reasons. Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
