Cambridge Man Charged with DUI in Little Compton

Plus, a garage was broken into while the owner was away.

LITTLE COMPTON, RI—A 55-year-old Cambridge, Mass., man was charged with driving under the influence after being seen driving erratically in town early Sunday morning.

Little Compton police said James Spiros was driving erratically on West Main Road before he was pulled over at around 2:10 a.m.

Police said Spiros failed a field sobriety test and and was arrested for DUI.

Later, at police headquarters, Spiros reportedly refused a preliminary breath test, which resulted in an additional refusal charge.

He was arraigned and released on personal recognizance. He is due to appear in Second Division District Court for formal arraignment on Feb. 5.

Other incidents reported by Little Compton police:

On Jan. 30 at 10:05 a.m., police were contacted by a Long Highway resident who said that his neighbor’s garage was broken into while away. Police are investigating.

On Jan. 31, a Bramblewood Cross resident reported that her car was broken into while in Fall River and she wanted to speak to a police officer about the issue. A report was taken.
