Dead Dog Wrapped In Flannel Shirt Found At Tiverton Yacht Club, Cops Seek Clues
The police are "seeking assistance from the public in identifying this animal and determining the circumstances surrounding this incident."
TIVERTON, RI — A dead dog wrapped in a red flannel shirt and stuffed in a storage bin with three bags of ice and a pillow was found in the water at the Tiverton Yacht Club, and the police want to know what happened to her.
The dog, an approximately 8-year-old female Labrador-pit bull mix weighing between 60 and 80 pounds, was found in a red and black storage bin shortly before 4:30 p.m. Sept. 1, the Tiverton police said in a media release.

The dog was black with a small white patch on her chest, according to the release.
"No microchip, tattoos, or identifying markings were found," the release said. "Based on an initial inspection, it is possible the canine may have been, or was recently, pregnant."

The Tiverton Police Department asked for the public's assistance "in identifying this
animal and determining the circumstances surrounding this incident," the release said.
