New Bedford Contractor Arrested After Alleged Tiverton Scam
After paying more than $4,000 for a construction job that never started, a Tiverton woman pressed charges against this New Bedford contractor.

A New Bedford contractor is facing felony fraud charges after he allegedly took payment on a Tiverton job he never completed.
David H. Genereux, Jr., 46, of 63 Jennylind St., New Bedford, MA, was arrested on the Monday, July 29 at 6:34 p.m. and charged with obtaining money under false pretenses, a felony. He was arrested on a warrant by Westerly Police and turned over to local police.
Genereux allegedly billed a Tiverton woman $4,046 to secure materials for work to be done for her home in July of 2012 and never completed the work after collecting the money. In November 2012 the woman lodged a complaint with police based on Genereux's failure to render the services that she paid for.
According to reports, police tried to contact Genereux, but he refused to cooperate and warrant was later issued for his arrest. He was arraigned in district court on July 30 at 9 a.m.
