Overheated Laptop Triggers Fire Alarm At Tiverton High School
Students were given the all-clear to return to class by the Tiverton Fire Department.
TIVERTON, RI — An overheated Chromebook is believed to have triggered a fire alarm at Tiverton High School Friday morning, school officials said.
All students were accounted for and were not in any danger, the school said. As a precaution, the Tiverton Fire Department was called and inspected the building. Students were then given the all-clear to return to class a scheduled.
"Thank you to the Tiverton High School staff and students who followed procedure and to the Tiverton Fire Department for their quick response," school officials said in a statement. "Should you have any questions, please feel free to email the office."
