Father Jay Finelli, pastor of Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton designed and built an N Scale micro train layout. Father is a long time railroad enthusiast who received his first set of Lionel Trains on his first Christmas when his was just 8 months old. A fire was lit and it was never extinguished.

Every year, Fr. Finelli creates an Italian Food Basket for the annual Holy Ghost Harvest Festival. This year, he wanted to do something different, something that would be eye catching and popular. Think about it - who doesn't like trains? Most children and adults are captivated by trains. Big and small trains have a way of capturing our attention. That is why children and adults love to build train layouts. It becomes a kind of escape into that perfect little world of our won imagination.

With that in mind, Father decided to build a "Micro Layout." A micro layout is very convenient because someone with a little apartment can have their own layout with the minimum of space. Paterville is a 30" round layout with a 24" circular track that goes through a Villiage of two homes, a trains station with a river flowing off the scenic mountain. The trains leaves the station, crosses the river and enters into the tunnel to come out and enter the town again. There is a small opening in the back of the tunnel to give access to the track in the rare occasion that the train derails in the tunnel. A video of the Paterville Micro Layout is available Paterville N Scale Micro Layout.
