The rescue vehicle was returning to the station in a "non-emergency capacity" shortly after 7:30 p.m. when it was struck by the motorcycle on Diamond Hill Road near Larchmont Drive, the Warwick Police Department said in a media release.
"The motorcycle operator had been traveling northbound on Diamond Hill Road when it lost control on approach to a bend in the roadway, crossing the double yellow line, and colliding head-on with WFD Rescue 2 which had been traveling in the southbound lane," the release said.
