Officers believe he was under the influence and sent him for a mental health evaluation. He now faces reckless driving, drug possession charges, and outstanding warrants, with a court appearance expected after treatment.

2. You can register to vote online. Why not sign candidate nomination papers too? (newsfromthestates.com) — Rhode Island’s secretary of state is again pushing a secure online system that would let voters electronically sign candidate nomination papers, aiming to prevent signature fraud and ease local workloads. Warwick Sen. Matt LaMountain, who previously sponsored the bill, says door-to-door conversations will still matter, but voters could later sign from home if the proposal passes for use in 2028.
