Texas Man Dies After Being Struck By A Car On The Highway In Warwick

Rhode Island State Police say the Texas man was a passenger, but got out of the car while it was still in motion.

WARWICK, RI — A Texas man died after being struck by a car on the highway in Warwick on Tuesday night, according to Rhode Island State Police.

Around 9:36 p.m., state police and the Warwick Fire Department were called to Interstate 95 southbound in Warwick for a report of a pedestrian being hit by a car.

State police said they learned a 33-year-old man from San Benito, Texas, was a passenger in a car, but he got out while the vehicle was still in motion. When he got out, he was struck by a car in the area of Route 37, state police said.

The man died as a result of his injuries. State police have not released the man's identity.
